Lunar Display gained a deserved win when asserting in good style in the closing stages of division two of the mares maiden hurdle at Tipperary.

The Joseph O'Brien-trained filly went to post a 1/2 shot having been placed on her last two starts, including in listed company at Navan.

JJ Slevin settled his mount behind the leaders in the two-and-a-half mile contest before moving up to challenge going to the second last.

The daughter of Getaway was untidy at the penultimate flight but got to the front before the last and was pulling away at the line to record a four length win over Rebel Rose

Assistant Brendan Powell said:- "She was entitled to do that and the second is alright. She was Listed placed two runs back and was second to a tough mare in Killarney the other day.

"She wouldn't have been in love with the ground being that soft and she could keep going now.

“She threw herself at the second last today but normally jumps very well and while she's not big, I bet she'll jump a fence."
