Bryan Cooper was seen to great effect when completing a double on the evening at Wexford for his retained owner Gigginstown House Stud as Archive swooped late to provide trainer Henry de Bromhead with a 1-2 in the featured Flood Ironworks Handicap Chase.

The patient tactics worked a treat on the 14/1 chance, who made smooth progress from off the pace before the penultimate fence.

The French-bred led on the run-in and was kept up to his work by Cooper to beat stable-companion Mullinavat by three quarters of a length.

The pair stretched nine lengths clear of Beautiful Ben in third.

The Gordon Elliott-trained Morgan initiated the double for Cooper and Gigginstown justifying 6/4 favouritism in the opening novice hurdle.

Cooper said, "He did it well. He had some classy hurdles form but just lost his way a bit.

"He got his wind done. Henry freshened him up, he has improved him a bit and got him back to his old form. He had a couple of runs over fences but they were disappointing. He loves that good ground and hopefully he will pay his way."
