Chasing was always going to be Baily Cloud s game, and he got off to a winning start over the larger obstacles under Andrew Ring in the Tramore Supporters Club Beginners Chase.
It could have been different though if The Plan Man hadn't got the last wrong.
He looked to have the upper hand at that stage, under Jack Kennedy, and though rallying Mouse Morris' Baily Cloud (8/1) held the call by a head at the line.
Things haven't gone to plan for the Henry De Bromhead runners, as Three Stars (5/4 and never really threatened to land a blow in 5th place) joined Crown Hill (8/11, 4th in the first) and Simiel (11/8, 4th in the third) as beaten favourites.
Mikey O'Connor (concussed but otherwise okay) took a dreadful fall from Smiler (injured) at the third last when still in front.
"Jumping is the name of the game and we will find a winners race for him now," said Morris.
"He goes on the ground and jumps well. The track was probably a bit sharp for him. Hopefully he'll win again over the summer."
The Turf Club Veterinary Officer examined Three Stars, trained by Henry de Bromhead, at the request of the Stewards and reported the animal to be post race normal.
D.N. Russell, rider of Three Stars, trained by Henry de Bromhead, reported to the Stewards' Secretaries that his mount was never on the bridle during this race.
