Goulane Chosen just had his head in front at the line as the handicap chase at Limerick this afternoon produced a terrific finish.

Seamus Spillane 's charge was gaining a deserved success having been runner-up on his previous two outings.

Donie McInerney produced the 3/1 shot to lead going to the second last and he was followed through by Tycoon Prince

Davy Russell looked to have produced the later with a well-timed run to lead close home in the two-mile-one contest but Goulane Chosen stuck his neck out at the death to get back up for a nose verdict.

"I was a bit worried and it was too close for comfort but we came out the right end of it,” said Spillane.

"He deserved it after his last two runs and it was a very nice pot. I'll discuss things with Dinny (son and assistant) and his owner Mary O'Donnell before making plans."
