Bajan Excell made it three wins in three visits to Limerick when running out a convincing winner of the two-mile handicap hurdle on the card.

Gavin Cromwell 's charge has gained all of his careers wins at Greenmount Park, having won on the Flat here last October and taken a maiden hurdle last month.

He had looked a somewhat unlucky loser at Thurles last time when hampered at the second last when third to Pakens Rocks.

Sent to post the 7/4 favourite this afternoon he pressed stable-mate Pretty Fantasy throughout before slipping into the lead turning for home.

Jonathan Moore 's mount ran on strongly in the closing stages to post a four-and-a-half length win over Nobel Joshua

"He is a strange one with the pedigree as he is slow and stays. He likes it around here and is tough,” said Cromwell.

"I'm not sure where we go but I wouldn't mind stepping him up in trip either.

"He likes testing ground around here but I wouldn't rule out going chasing during the summer as he'd go on any ground."
