One for Bobby arrived late on the scene to make a winning racecourse debut in the Irish Stallion Farms EBF Fillies Maiden at Gowran Park.

Ben Coen was content to bide his time on the daughter of Frankel before producing her with a smart turn of foot to get the better of some more experienced rivals.

It was a nice debut effort from the Johnny Murtagh trained filly and on the evidence of this performance she is destined for bigger things.

Johnny Murtagh said; “That was a nice surprise. She's a big backward filly and we took our time with her, she hadn't come in her coat early in the season.

“I thought she'd come here today and learn a lot and maybe be ready next time.

“Ben said she didn't have a clue what was happening halfway through the race but when he gave her a click she quickened up really well.

“She's by Frankel out of a good mare so she probably has a chance of being a stakes filly.

“It was a very competitive maiden and coming here I would have been happy if she had stayed on nicely to be fourth or fifth so that was a nice surprise.

“They are owner/breeders so it's very much about seeing if we can get a bit of black-type now.”
