Trainer Willie Mullins has been expanding on what makes reigning Champion Hurdler State Man such a special horse ahead of his reappearance in the Morgiana Hurdle on Saturday.

In an interview with Dave Keena, the current Irish and British champion trainer explained: "He is a real racehorse. He is good and sound; turns up every day. I'm very happy to have him in the condition that he is in.

"When you think of the amount of Grade 1's he has won, you know, he pitches up every day, gives his A-game every day. He is good and solid, dependable.

"What more do you want in a racehorse? He is never flashy, never does any more than he has to so we don't know how good he is."
