Home By The Lee is reported in great form ahead of the Jack de Bromhead Christmas Hurdle at Leopardstown on December 28 where he is likely to clash again with Bob Olinger.
The Joseph O’Brien-trained gelding put up a career best effort last time when finishing strongly to collar Bob Olinger in the Grade 2 Railway Bar Lismullen Hurdle at Navan.
That was a seventh career victory for the seven-year-old who also has a Grade 3 success over fences to his credit.
The ‘Lismullen’ was over 2m4f but he showed three miles is no problem earlier this year when runner-up to Royal Kahala in the John Mulhern Galmoy Hurdle at Gowran Park and also wasn’t beaten far when sixth in the Paddy Power Stayers’ Hurdle at Cheltenham.
O’Brien’s assistant Brendan Powell said, “He's in great form and has had a nice break since his last run, I think he is better fresh.
"It was no fluke, he has the form in the book. His run at Cheltenham last year was good.
"He hits flat spots in races but he's actually a genuine horse and he will go through a wall for you."
Klassical Dream and Flooring Porter, who filled the first two places in this race 12 months ago, are also among the 15 entries.
