Today's meeting at Carlisle has been abandoned following an early morning inspection due to heavy rainfall and a poor weather forecast for the remainder of the day at the Cumbrian track.

Clerk of the Course Sulekha Varma took the decision early this morning which means there is just one jumps card this afternoon at Kempton and an all-weather Flat card this evening at Wolverhampton.

The loss of the Carlisle card comes just after Sandown’s meeting yesterday was abandoned after just three races due to waterlogging.

The next Irish meeting is scheduled for Fairyhouse tomorrow and the going is currently described as soft, soft to heavy in places.

The forecast remains unsettled with occasional heavy showers.
