FormscanBy Donal Murphy - NOT NOW DARLING stands out after her comfortable debut success. A half-sister to the potentially high class Mozzies Sister, she readily stretched clear of her rivals on good ground at Killarney, with the likely testing conditions here a cause for concern. The ground is also an unknown for Cork victor Windbeneathmywings. A solid second on his latest start, another good effort looks likely from the Free Eagle chestnut. The Harry Kelly-trained Black Heather is the other winner in the line-up, but again the ground is a cause for concern. A runner-up on soft on debut at Down Royal, Addragoole went down by just half a length at Bellewstown in April. Not seen since, the Gavin Cromwell-trained five-year-old is of definite interest with Declan Lavery aboard.

He'd a great run in Kilbeggan, but we were disappointed and we just thought he didn't stay. In the meantime, he was declared to run in a mile and a half Flat maiden in Tramore and, I won't lie, I was disgusted that it was called off. But maybe it was for luck. I don't know did he just not handle the real winter ground. He's been working well and with loads of pace all year. I'm delighted to give Pa the winner and for his owners Finbar and Grainne (O'Reilly), they bred him and they've been patient with him. I'm good friends with their son Oisin, he's a farrier and is in Australia at the moment. A winners' bumper could be an option, but he will definitely run on the Flat and he's for sale.

I thought he had a chance today. I love the sire and have a pile of them by the sire as Pat Smullen told me Free Eagle was one of the best horses he’d ridden. He was a reasonable price for my mares and I bought this lad as a yearling for 22,000Euro. . He did everything to get himself beaten there today. He pulled so hard and when he learns to race he’ll be a real nice horse.

I only have her 12 weeks and knew she was decent although we never got to gallop her on grass. She has a good pedigree and is improving. Pat Hurley, the owner, is from near Thurles, is a first cousin of my mother's and has taken back out his own training licence recently. Pat trained horses for years so she might go to a new trainer now although he might also sell her, so we'll see. . I think she is decent and I think 2m4f over hurdles will bring out the best in her.
