Preview navan 23rd Mar

Navan plays host to a classy jumps card, including the Grade Two Toals.com Bookmakers Webster Cup Chase.

Willie Mullins has an interesting pair in the contest, with American Tom bidding to reverse a heavy defeat when third to Doctor Phoenix at Naas, where Alisier D'Irlande was second.

Mullins' other runner is Great Field, who struck Grade One glory at the Punchestown Festival when easily winning the Ryanair Novice Chase, but he has been off the track since.

Mullins also has a pair of runners in the Listed Irish Racing Writers Kingsfurze Novice Hurdle, with Nessun Dorma topping the weights after winning two out of two over timber, and recent Clonmel second Draconien.

His usual rival Gordon Elliott runs Roaring Bull, who was second behind subsequent Cheltenham Festival winner Blow By Blow when falling at Thurles last time, and Cartwright, who was far from disgraced in Grade Two company latest.

Add in Henry De Bromhead's Down Royal winner Celtic Rising and John Kiely's French import Rock De Baune and an intriguing contest is in store.

There's a big pot up for grabs in the Irish Stallion Farms EBF Novice Handicap Chase Final, where Mullins pits his recent Clonmel winner Augustin against Elliott's top weight Woods Well.

Two others to take from the race are Fitzhenry and Last Encounter, as the former narrowly got the better of the argument when they met at Naas latest, but a 2lb swing could give the latter the edge.

The meeting gets under way at 1.55 with the Toals.com Bookmakers Download The App Maiden Hurdle, where Mags Mullins' I Am Sailing bids to build on a promising Naas third against a trio of Elliott horses, headed by Savannah Storm.

Dis Donc and Pat's Oscar bid to follow up recent successes in the Toals.com Casino Handicap Hurdle, while the Toals.com Bookmakers Daily Online Specials could be between Flemenstorm and All The Chimneys.
