Despite drifting left late on, Is That Love a luckless 5th last time, ran out a good winner to shed his maiden tag in the Join Us On Instagram @dundalk_stadium Apprentice Handicap.

Once Cian MacRedmond got to the rail on the Es Que Love gelding, the four-year-old kept going well to beat Sense Of Worth and Burning Lake by a length and a quarter and a length and three parts.

Favourite Pride Of Pimlico was a length and a half back in fourth.

“He’s been a bit frustrating. He was having problems breathing and we got a job done on him,” said winning trainer Ado McGuinness.

“We were sprinting with him and have stepped him up to a mile which I think suits him better as he can breathe and get into the race a lot better.

“He’s also slipped down the ratings which has given him a chance.

“He’s entered here on Wednesday and will run if he gets in and comes out of this okay.

“He was unlucky here the last night as he got badly hampered when he was coming with a run.”

C.J. MacRedmond, rider of Is That Love trained by Adrian McGuinness, reported to the Clerk of Scales that his mount ducked left when he hit the front.

Siobhan Rutledge, rider of Fortmill Lily trained by John C. McConnell, reported to the Stewards' Secretaries that her mount stood in stalls.
