Shane Foley brought up a quick-fire double on board Guanabara Bay in race two at Bellewstown.

His mount joined Tennesse Waltz over a furlong out in the extended seven furlong claimer and the pair settled down to fight out the spoils.

In the final 50 yards Guanabara Bay proved strongest as he moved in front of his rival to win by half a length at 12/1 for trainer Ado McGuinness.

The runner-up, partnered by Billy Lee, was a 7/1 chance from 10s. He was a couple of lengths in front of Fivehundredmiles (7/1).

Assistant trainer Stephen Thorne said: “He went home on a break after he won in January and ran a lovely race in Cork the last day. The plan was to come here, although we were supposed to run in a handicap the other night but it looked too competitive and we came here for the claimer.

“It’s great to train a winner here for Sean Gallagher who is such a great supporter and is also local.”

The only claim was a friendly one by the winning connections.
