Fit For Function made his first visit to Dundalk a winning one when claiming the Total Produced Rated Race for Joe Murphy.

The Captain Gerard gelding stayed on well to get to the front inside the final furlong, under Gary Carroll, in the seven-furlong contest.

The 10/1 shot stuck on well in the closing stages to record a length-and-a-half success as Indrahar ran on well to grab the second close home.

It was a third career victory for the three-year-old whose previous two successes had come over six furlongs.

"He's so genuine, and that's his main asset really. He handled the surface well, and will come back here for a winter campaign. Seven furlongs is his trip,” said Murphy.

"He's owned by Mick and Patricia Mullane from Limerick city. Mick was a jockey in England."
