Darren Bunyan will concentrate on trying to get some all-important black type for Optionality after she justified his faith with a clear-cut victory at the Curragh on Sunday.

The three-year-old daughter of Bated Breath was having only her second career start, some 296 days on from her debut, when winning a 15-runner maiden over five furlongs by four lengths.

The Co Kildare handler will look at suitable races on both sides of the Irish Sea for his promising and unexposed filly.

“I was very happy with her. She’s always looked a smart filly,” said Bunyan.

“She was just a little bit weak last year and took a bit longer than expected. The season got away from us before we got to run her.

“We always thought a lot of her which is why she went to Dundalk (in October).

“She learnt plenty from that and we were able to put away for the winter after that.

“We’ve just been waiting on the ground for her, but she’s a smart filly and has got a good future ahead of her.

“We’ll look to getting her into a Listed sprint in either England or Ireland. If we can find a Listed fillies’ race for her, all the better.

“She might go to the sales later on in the year if she’s not sold.

“We’re fairly sure she’ll get some black type. If she does, that would enhance her value.”
