Belfast Banter is to be campaigned more in Britain as Peter Fahey believes that style of racing better suits his hold-up horse.

The six-year-old Jeremy gelding has had a lucrative 2021 in landing the Grade 3 County Hurdle at the Cheltenham Festival and the Grade One Top Novices' Hurdle at Aintree.

He was last seen contesting the Grade B Ladbrokes Handicap Hurdle in Listowel this month in which he fell when fifth at the final flight.

"He came out of the race grand, he's a little bit stiff and sore but he's fine," the trainer said.

"He was going to run a nice race and was going to finish probably fourth or fifth but it would have been a nice run off top weight.

"We'll probably look at something over in England for him. He seems to suit the faster run races. In Listowel they didn't go all that quick and he had to make up a lot of ground to get into his position, because that's the way he has to be ridden. Over in England they go very quick up front and they come back to him.

"We'll probably campaign him a bit over in England in the better handicaps. There's plenty of options for him, he ran a good race in that old Ladbroke Hurdle in Ascot last year (when fifth in the Grade 3 Betfair Exchange Trophy) so something like that (again)."
