Analyse That put recent form behind him to run out a cosy winner of the lady riders handicap hurdle at Thurles.

Sean Aherne 's charge had pulled up on his last three outings but attracted some support today from 16/1 in the morning and went to post an 8/1 shot.

Sheila Ahern had her mount prominent for most of the two-mile contest and they hit the front going to the second last flight.

The pair soon asserted and looked to have the measure of nearest pursuer Punches Pious when that rival blundered at the final flight.

Analyse That came home a six-and-a-half length winner over Hughies Bay who stayed on to take the runner-up spot.

"That was as good a chance as he was going to get and it was a race he had a chance in - it was his Gold Cup,” said Aherne.

"You'd think in Gowran the last day that he was flying going across the top but then he couldn't even jump the last and I'd say it was just a handy race for him today.

"He has always run respectably and thank god he got there today as he couldn't go any lower in the handicap.

"He's in the perseverance race on the second day at Cheltenham!"
