FormscanBy Michael Graham - LORD RAPSCALLION is of interest in an intriguing contest. He outran his 33/1 odds when finishing second at Naas. There didn't appear any fluke about it either as he was slowly away, fifth a furlong out and finished well for second without threatening the winner. Notably, the horse behind him in third came out and shed her maiden tag at Navan on her next start. Coral Beach is clearly the one to beat. She knows this track well having raced over course and distance on her last couple of starts. She was only pipped by a nose on the line earlier in the month and should be right in contention. She has been a beaten favourite though, in three of her five starts so perhaps you wouldn't want to take too short a price on her. The draw in 12 could have been kinder. Arabic Channel has shown enough on his last two starts to suggest he can be in the mix for prize money. Newcomer Karasheni has a Group One entry in the National Stakes and has to rate a serious threat representing Demrot Weld and the Aga Khan. Similar sentiments apply to Kevin Prendergast's Sestriere who holds an entry in the Group One Moyglare Stakes.
For two yrs old only, maidens at starting which are EBF eligible and whose sire established one or more yearling sales in 2017 with a median price of not more than E50,000Weights - 9st 5lb; Fillies allowed 5lb
