FormscanBy Eamonn Murphy - Many of those watching the British scene closer than this observer have remarked in the run up to the festival that if SAM SPINNER was in a bigger stable he'd be on plenty of banker lists. Horses from smaller outfits are often underestimated and whilst that's hardly the case with Sam Spinner it could be that he'll have to go and take this before people get a true gauge on the Black Sam Bellamy gelding's ability. Rider Joe Colliver is taking his second chance with both hands, and his mount was very good last time in the Long Walk when forging on up the run-in for a two and three parts of a length victory from the sweet-travelling L'ami Serge (in again here too). Bacardys, Penhill, Supasundae (big ground concerns), The New One, Unowhatimeanharry and Yanworth are others for the short-list. Apple's Jade was of course 3rd here in the mares hurdle on Tuesday and it'd be hard to imagine her turning out again.
